libio-socket-ip-perl software package provides module for using IPv4 and IPv6 sockets in a protocol-independent way, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libio-socket-ip-perl
libio-socket-ip-perl is installed in your system.
